Carefully following our pre-surgery guidelines will ensure your comfort and safety during procedures while also guaranteeing the best result for healthy teeth and gums.
In order to guarantee a successful oral surgery with minimal discomfort, we recommend the following:
- Abstain from smoking, tobacco products, alcohol, pain medication, or street/recreational drugs 48 hours before your appointment.
- Avoid caffeine 24 hours before your appointment.
- Continue to use prescription medications (including blood pressure medicine) unless otherwise directed.
- Do not take over the counter medications a week before your procedure (this includes but is not limited to: Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Celebrix, Feldene, Herbal Supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Multi-Vitamins, and Nuprin.
If your procedure or personal medical history requires any additional measures to ensure your comfort or safety, Dr. Murphy will provide a customized plan.
