Preparing for Your Procedure

Carefully following our pre-surgery guidelines will ensure your comfort and safety during procedures while also guaranteeing the best result for healthy teeth and gums.

In order to guarantee a successful oral surgery with minimal discomfort, we recommend the following:

  • Abstain from smoking, tobacco products, alcohol, pain medication, or street/recreational drugs 48 hours before your appointment.
  • Avoid caffeine 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Continue to use prescription medications (including blood pressure medicine) unless otherwise directed.
  • Do not take over the counter medications a week before your procedure (this includes but is not limited to: Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Celebrix, Feldene, Herbal Supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Multi-Vitamins, and Nuprin.
